Continuous Solutions grows its high-power energy capabilities

Our goals are to put our energy tech into applications that will improve people’s lives.
— DR. NYAH ZARATE

Continuous Solutions expands its high-power energy lab using funds from the Oregon’s Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) grant for CS lab’s SBIR Phase 2 award titled,  “High-performance Switch Reluctance Machine Controller.

The lab specializes in the research and development of ultra high-efficiency electric motors, and now functions with military grade environmental testing standards, adding a thermal-chamber (temperatures ranges -160C to 160C), dust-exposure chamber and a water-submersion testing tank.

The lab added a second machine testbed with 132kW 4-quadrant dynamometer -  including an acoustically isolated dyno that upgrades the lab to the Department of Defense’ Technical Readiness Level 7.  CS now demonstrates system prototypes in an operational environment.

CS moves to produce more commercial products for power and energy as CEO and founder Dr. Nyah Zarate states, “our goals are to start putting our tech in renewable energy applications that will improve people’s lives,” speaking about the company’s passion for innovation and moving toward an electrified future.

Continuous Solutions is in a unique position, as the lab’s capabilities compare to those of major university and federal research institutes for high-power and energy that tend to be more commonly located in the midwest and east coast.

Continuous Solutions labs is located in the Portland State Business Accelerator, bridging the gap between commercial development and groundbreaking academic research. With close ties to Portland State University and Purdue University, CS is active in realms of science and innovation, working at the intersection of government, academics and commercial sectors.
